What the fuck ever.
I doubt Veronica's expression means much at all given how she hasn't defended Logan all season, even when she was dating him. She probably agrees.

HA! My God, it just gets easier and easier not to tune in. Keith bashing Logan and thinking it's okay that V has a boy in her bedroom? What happened to all boys are scum and protecting V's tarnished virtue?? And how many times did Logan and Keith meet? Did they discuss anything? Surfing was brought up once, only to be cut off by V because apparently surfing isn't good enough (as backed up by Keith's comments in this cold open) but what? Playing guitar and talking about nothing but emo rock is a good thing?

Re: Re: Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes

Every time I acheive a little bit of Zen, I get another slap from the show.
I think we could safely say "goodbye" to GuySpy/LLL spoilers. 1. He told us Mac/Max thing wasn't going to happen. Or something to the effect that Max's girlfriend would be a throw-away storyline, like Corny in the previous seasons. That's out of the window. 2. He told us Logan is portrayed as a hero in final 5 and has his own storyline. Yeah, a hero. Smack down from his professor, cheap shot smack down from Keith (and I am so pissed about that, I could hit something). Smack down from the show itself with the constant "good guy/bad boy" comparisons. And we know a few more that are coming in 3.19. So, I am more and more convinced that the "glorious" scene RTerrible was talking about was that "like Aaron" fight #2, with Veronica getting horrified and disgusted, and making that connection, whether outloud or in a voiceover. At this point I don't give a flying carpet if she is discontented at the end of the season. Likewise, I don't even believe that anymore, seeing how GuySpy/LLL's stuff so far has not pan out. But even if she is, doesn't matter to me. I don't give a damn if Keif wins or loses the election. He has had lobotomy this season, and this was literally the last straw for me. I have lost all respect for him. He can die smelling bread for all I care. Wallace is a non-entity, Weevil is only there to be Veronica's errand boy and hate on Logan (he and Keith can get together and go bowling), and I don't see Mac really having Logan's back when it comes to confronting Veronica. So no, I don't think that the confrontation with Veronica about her attitude that LLL promised will even happen. But even if it will, it'll have jack shit to do with Logan. It will probably be about her not being nice enough to poor Piss. Or not careful enough with Daddy's job prospects on the line. Oh, and RT claiming he LOVES Jason? What an effing joke that is. |

Quote: No, Piz is shown reading an important book about African children. Logan probably just looks at pornography all day. Piz is deep and caring, man. And BTW, that look from Veronica was totally not one of disagreement with Keith's insult; it was just one of annoyance that he's embarrassing her by bringing the subject up with Piz there. "Frell me dead." |

Re: Re: Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes
Quote: Oh yeah. I wouldn't expect anything else. And I know that he was looking at a book on African children, my point was all season his default conversation topic was either Veronica-gushing or emo-music metaphors. He isn't exactly "deep" either. I hate having anvils shoved down my throat. Quote: I know. Logan has actually been insulted more this season than he was when he actually WAS a bad boy or, you know, actually snarked and could be an asshole. At least back then he didn't get kicked puppy face much either. He snarked and stood up for himself and lashed right back, only to maybe show a little sadness when he was alone. I fucking hate the kicked puppy, the kicked puppy has to DIE! It infuriates me that Rob keeps having characters anviliciously insult Logan and his place in V's life over and over again. But it infuriates me even more that he won't even let Logan bite back now. I know he's been insulted just as much in the past but it was warranted then (because he was hurting people, which he isn't now) and he always got his own say. Now, more often than not, Logan joins the party and insults himself rather than retorting with even more venom. He just doesn't insult the people who insult him. I hate it because it means he's whipped and is proof positive that he has zero self esteem any more. So now every time he's insulted, I wince because it's like he dies a little bit every time he doesn't stand up for himself. Since when did he have a soft underbelly that wilts under the least jab? GRRRRRR. I mean, if they wanted to destroy LV, why couldn't they at least have done it because Logan actually was being mean? Then we at least could have had the sparkle of his snark and the energy Jason brings to those scenes when Logan has his 'fuck off and die' face on. Instead they still talk about him like he's an OPJ when he hasn't been that all season - it's like getting stabbed from both sides as a Logan fan. I don't get to experience the darkness that I love about his character, but he's still punished as if he is behaving that way. Whatever. ETA: It's RT's story though and he can assassinate characters and take them in whatever direction he wants. I fully believe that the destruction of LV is meant to be a good thing for Veronica - her growing out of her bad boy habit and becoming a better person. Because, you know, clearly they're taking the easy path with her issues here: they're all Logan's fault. She has no issues independent of him, he brought them all out with his naughty bad boy ways and Piz is all she needs to heal her and make her a good person. Whatever. I'm not going to say the storyline doesn't make sense. This storyline, at least, does make sense. It's just completely unappealling to me, overly simple and weak thematically. Plus it renders my favourite character not only redundant but the bane of the show's existence and I'm at the point where that does not compute since he's the only pleasure I get from the show. It doesn't strike a chord in me but I know that the fans who are left are feeling something. I'm just so relieved the ratings have been bad and there's no chance in hell the show will be renewed. I won't have to feel like this any more. |

It keeps getting worse.
I really thought Keith liked Logan, maybe even one of his favourite boyfriends of Veronica's. Logan has done countless things to save Veronica's life/to protect her and this is what he gets? A rude comment about all Logan cares about is surfing? Un-fucking-believable. Enough with the lies. RT we get that you don't like Logan/Jason whomever but to say you do and do this crap? Maybe it wasn't even RT's idea in the first place but he has to give the green light so yea he's at fault. Nothing else to say except bring OPJ Logan back! If that means that Logan had no character growth then whatever because apparently character growth doesn't even matter in Veronica's world. ![]() Banner by me (sweepmeoffmyfeet) |

Ugh. Just remember this is the freaking ridiculous new writers' episode, and they just... get off on flinging uncharacteristic, unsolicited, baseless insults at Logan. Yeah, Rob sucks for hiring them and approving their trash scripts, but we already knew Rob sucks. This episode is going to blow chunks, looks promisingly cheesy, and will probably be the end of Mac/Max since she's "reconsidering" the relationship already (WONDERFUL), but maybe if they get their cheap shots in through Keith it means Weevil will keep his trap shut and just not say anything about Logan in this episode. Though I'm not holding my breath.
I'm really getting tired of this season's Completely Unironic Inspirational Message of the Week schtick. Bring on the sex tapes -- only two more weeks and it's over! over!! over!!! |

No one can tell, but I'm sure everyone can understand, but I was GLARING at my computer, ready to smash it when I watched the opening scene. "Its refreshing to have someone talk about something other than how high waves break"?????!!!!!!!
Just, honestly, WHAT THE FUCK? That's all I got: what the fuck? I cannot process more than that at this time and think only blind rage will follow once I do. |

Re: Re: Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes

I had been in detox. Severely. I stopped visiting here, reading spoilers, etc. My idea was when the show was over read the reviews and decide if it was worth watching. A couple of days ago I had a moment of weakness. I came, I browsed, I read. Worst part, I dind't actually hated eppie 16 (read the transcript, watch some caps). Of course I clenched at the over the top sweet moments between L & P, but didn't hate it. So, I let the unthinkabe happen... I let my hope rise again. Reading this... hope crushed again.
I can't believe that they are treating Logan like he is a moran, now. Through the show he has been one of the most witty and intresting character, but now he is just (this is what bugs me) a surfer. He is nineteen years old, apparently he should be talking abour world hunger 24/7, or crying about his family. Sad that the writers have truly lost the way about how to make a show intresting without turning it into a soap opera. |

Do you think that Keith is going to be too happy once the sex tape comes to light ?? Start polishing that gun ! eat your words Keith I will pass you a spoon !!
It's not like Logan and Veronica got caught on a tape (that we know of). Maybe this is to show the irony to Keith that, yes nice young boy who reads and works hard to buy anything. Yet finds out in ep 19 that he is also sleeps with his daughter !! |

Re: Re: Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes
Quote: I'm pretty sure Keith realizes Piss is sleeping with his daughter (or will be at some point). Self-preservation and denial aside, if Keith really thinks all they do in bed is read books and play footsey, then that lobotomy he had this year is even more massive than I thought. Sigh. I don't even care if Keith believes Piss is a castrated virgin who thinks babies are delivered by storks. Keith dissing Logan in front of Piss is just tacky. It's tacky, graceless and smacks of ingratitude. |

I think it's ironic that she didn't get caught on any sex tapes with Logan yet ten minutes with "golden boy Piz" and she is getting famous -Paris Hilton style.

Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes

OK honestly would Veronica care if Logan was going to be upset if she left for the summer... ummm... NO
|
|||
samwg |
Re: Re: Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes
|
Eh, I think Veronica did care last summer. Like, she made that speech about leaving highschool and never having to see each other again (yay) during the locker scene in LWS, then Logan made the epic speech (we'll never see each other again = it's really over), and it prompted her to go talk to him the following morning and tell him she didn't want to lose him from her life either, that they should stay in touch over the summer. I think her reaction to Piz is in character, even if it's nauseating.
Question: What the hell is going on in the preview -- why is Wallace tasering himself?? Don't tell me he still wants to be a part of the Castle after they released the sex tape. Also, Jason looks hot storming through the cafeteria doors, but I'm very displeased with his face after the "you're out of my life" line. Needs more " I'm going by the color of the shirt here -- it looks like Logan's the one getting punched in the snippet fromt the cafeteria fight, and that's definately not Piz hitting him, so I think that's the "glorious" scene. If he's taking hits in the 2nd fight, and he's definately not sporting bruises when V banishes him from her life, then the cafeteria fight comes after the scene at the Grande. And PUKE on her hypocrisy, Geezus, pick up a paper or turn on the news: TASERS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO KILL PEOPLE. They are not toys to be waved around, not a leash to yank when someone steps out of line, THEY ARE A SERIOUS WEAPON that can SERIOUSLY cause damage if not used carefully. Where does she get off decreeing that getting in a fist fight is Psychotic Violence but lurking in dark rooms waving a taser around is Completely Acceptable Behavior? Why is Logan the bad guy for beating someone up? Because it's a fair fight? Because it's rooted in passion and anger, verses the clean and methodic way she calmly brandishes her taser? This show is just SO STUPID. You know what? Aaron invited Dylan over to dinner and played nice until he was ready to beat the crap out of him. Veronica lurks in dark rooms and creepily flashes her taser at people. I don't care what the stage direction was or if V actually makes an Aaron comparison -- Logan clearly doesn't approach the cafeteria fight with an erie calm, he storms in and probably goes straight for the guy -- if anything, Veronica's the one that's like Aaron. I should watch the whole scene before I make this comparison, but it really reminds me of the scene in RotK when Aaron waits in the dark for Logan to get home after the bumfights stuff was released on the Smoking Gun website. |

Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes
Quote: Indeed. For that matter, apparently arranging someone's murder by proxy is acceptible behavior to Veronica and to the show. We are clearly meant to cheer for Duncan when he orders a hit on Aaron. And I don't care how dispicable Aaron is, Duncan is still committing murder, and of the worst kind: paying someone else to get their hands dirty. And Veronica has no problem buddying up with Weevil, who, she knows, arranged for Thumper to be killed. And again, I don't care how much Thumper deserved it. It was murder, Weevil set him up knowing it would be murder. But Logan gets the benefit of a comparison to a psycho killer? Because he gets into a one-on-one fight with a guy who's hitting back? In a heat of anger? Trying to defend Veronica? And Veronica, of course, judges him for it. Whatever, show. |

Re: Director's Cut and Opening Scenes
Quote: I didn't get that from the opening scene at all. What I saw was Veronica a bit annoyed by Piz's mopey, non-supportive reaction to her internship, and she doesn't know what to do about it. Mac suggests telling him she'll miss him too, and Veronica realizes that might do the trick. To me, it's not so much that she will, indeed, miss him, but more that she thinks that will actually be a good way to shut him up. I don't think she's bummed at all. She just wants to stop Piz from being mopey, and making him think she feels the same as he does will do it. Quote: I don't think he's tasering himself. I think he's wearing some sort of shock collar. Looks to me like he's getting tortured or something. I have no idea what's going on. Quote: There are shots of two different scenes that I think you're confusing. I'm pretty sure the shot of Logan storming into the cafeteria with the dark shirt on is when he's going after Piz. The other scene from an actual fight is Logan in a white shirt punching some other guy, so that must be a scene from the 2nd fight. So the storming in is going after Piz, but the 2nd fight is probably spur of the moment, after the guy taunts Veronica and he finds out that's the guy responsible. |
