They have clips up on the CW site here. Of course, it's all PIZ! And the image on the screen on the side is Veronica and Piz. And some wonder why I'm not looking forward to the season. How can I when it's just screaming in our face what they are promoting.

Well, one thing can be said upon viewing this preview. Piz (the actor) is just as bad as TD. Yeesh.
ETA: I wouldn't worry about Piz or the show's promotion of him. Based on this preview, I have a strange feeling that he's a decoy. I don't know why, but I really feel that there's something else that we're not getting and it has nothing to do with Piz. |

To heck with them. They can promote whomever they want, but the reality is that interesting, complex, compelling characters portrayed by good actors with range and depth are the ones that resonate with the viewers.
They can plaster this Piz guy all over the net, they can photograph him and Veronica brading each other's hair, for that matter, it's not going to get him the love. Bottom line is: if he is as bland, cheesy, and one-dimentional as he comes off so far, the showrunners might not find as much universal love for the guy as they seem to expect. I am looking forward to the new season, mostly because I miss Logan. His face may not be plastered all over the place, but I know I am not alone. I am looking forward to Logan doing pretty much anything, even if it's reading a phone book with those wild hand gestures of his. LOL. How many TV characters can I say that about?

Remember that these clips were often edited versions of the opening scenes. This clip is so boring that I suspect much of the scene was trimmed. Often the most important part of the scenes were cut. I recall Logan being cut completely out of at one of them.
In fact, I don't know if this is from the opening scene. Piz isn't being introduced to Veronica or the audience. "Same dren, different planet." |

This clip reminds me a little of season 1. Like Wallace bringing Veronica a prospective client. That was probably the only thing I liked about the preview. Though it did seem a little like Veronica didn't really care for Piz much. She seemed to think he was just like every other guy. Whereas Logan is special because their relationship is epic. I have hope for LoVe this season, even though it isn't being heavily promoted. I figure just because Piz is going to be a love interest doesn't mean that Veronica will go out with him.

I dunno if this is RT's doing or the networks, even both but they just seem to be glossing over the fact Logan exists. The guy that 99% of the fandom adore and consider the hero, the heartthrob the number one love interest and he's glossed over.....yeah, real smart.
Chris Lowell gets on my nerves I'm sorry but I watched LAWKI once and he even made Kelly Osbourne look a good actress which she is of course not. I think its cos he talks really damn fast...annoying much??  |

I dunno maybe there is something to this Piz decoy thing, but if so, they have a funny way of doing this if it is the case since he's being promoted so much. I mean we got a bigger number of promo shots of him than anyone else including KB!!! We eventually got a second one of her, but there were more of him than her at first. And of course, we've seen not ONE SHOT OF JASON DOHRING!!! Grrrr. Sorry, I'd like to believe things will be okay, but yeah, I still don't trust Rob Thomas. Never will. Not ever season two. |

You know, I thought that when the channels merged we would finally get good promotions. Have you seen the amount of promos Supernatural has for their actors and guest stars? We're on the same freakin' channel. I don't understand why the VM PR team aren't pimping the shit out of every character on the show. That includes Wallace and Mac and Keith and Logan and Veronica and even Dick. I'm remembering the Buffy and Roswell days when I was drowning in promo shots of all the cast in character as well as magazine cast shoots and solo interviews. Why doesn't VM get promoted that way? I know Buffy had a high point but that show wasn't always swimming in popularity and Roswell had very similar ratings to Veronica Mars so I don't understand why those shows got promoted so much better . . .
I want to hate the fact they are glossing over Logan's existence but I feel like every aspect of the show has been glossed over. Even KB. Normally I don't like that she's the only one that gets promoted because well . . . Sarah Michelle Gellar wasn't the only star with a magazine spread on Buffy and you shouldn't only promote your lead especially when you have one of the best ensemble casts. I think the promotion of this show, well, sucks. I'm not surprised Piz talks so fast either since RT has been saying in almost every interview that he has "a lot of words." It will be hard to imagine Veronica eventually falling for him though. I know she's quippy and has a lot of words too but it's different. And yeah, sorry about the Buffy comparisons but it would be like Buffy caving in to Xander. Ah. No. She's out of his league because he simply cannot meet her as an equal in the same way that Leo couldn't meet her as an equal. B xxx  |

So maybe the execs saw/heard what RT and KB were doing and realized it was never going to change, they were never going to listen, do what was right by the show and so they have every expectation of it being cancelled now. They promised it a slot, so they'll give it a chance, but if those ratings are great, it's gone. This would also explain why no one is saying word one about KB her erroneous, horrific-PR comments, counteracting her or trying to stop her. And maybe the lack of Jason is because they like him and want to do another show with him and think the best shot of promoting him for that is to keep him as far away from VM as possible. Who knows? I can't think of anything else that makes sense for this lack of promotion for the ship and the arguably most popular character. |
