Jake Kane, Clarence, Leo. And suddenly I have this really sickening "Full Circle" feeling again. Or, rather, it solidifies. Because it's not like RT is looking for new ideas. Why bother when he can recycle old ones? Just reshuffle and deal.

So, we get Jake the Big Cheese back in town. Clarence is most likely working for him and being all menacing. Veronica is being sexually humiliated again. And Logan is a bad guy. It's the Pilot, whoooo-freaking-hoooo!

Jake Kane, who couldn't be bothered to show up for his daughter's murderer's trial, is suddenly and inexplicably here. He is either a) involved with the sheriff's election, b) sex tape or c) here to go after Logan (per long forgotten "I'll destroy your family" threat to Aaron).

If it's A, it makes no sense, since he doesn't even live in Neptune anymore, so why would he give a damn? Though I presume his business is still there. And again, the guy couldn't be bothered with the Aaron development, it was Donut who ordered the hit, but suddenly Jake is invested enough to show?

If it's B, it makes no sense, because why would a man whose daughter appeared in a sex tape and was consequently killed for it be involved in taping someone esle's daughter? That's just a spec too preposterous to entertain.

If it's C, it's 2 seasons too late and makes no sense at all. Nothing makes any sense.

I am stumped.

I do not give a flying carpet about Leo, so I won't even bother to speculate anymore why this useless bit player would be dragged back for what is most likely a series finale.

And as for Clarence, he has been used consistently in one capacity only: he is the clean up man. So, that doesn't bode well for someone. I can't see him killing Kieth. That's just too senseless a killing to contemplate. And I can't really see him killing Logan, even if there is a hit out on him. CW has a kind of a code. He mostly kills bad guys.

Having said that, it looks like RT is telling us Logan is a bad guy now. And it's not like RT cares about the narrative, or logic, or much of anything besides his "gotchas." So, maybe Belinda is right and Logan is being offed at the very end.

This show needs a hit put on it. Anyone has Clarence's number?

How sad is that, right? I don't know if I would cheer for Hannah, but weighing in everything that's in store for Logan at the end of this crap, I would probably embrace anything even remotely positive for him at this point. And I can't believe it's come to this.

That, and for screwing over all the Logan fans, as well. And all the fans of the show with an ounce of common sense and desire for decent story-telling and emotional continuity, who don't like their intelligence insulted and don't enjoy being screwed.

This is what Veronica gives Logan for all his devotion and protectivness? This is what RT gives the audience for all their devotion and efforts to keep his "baby" on the air? Right. Thanks.

To quote the wonderful and recently departed Kurt Vonnegut (who reminded me of Logan a little), it feels as if common sense and good writing on this show has long ago "crawled up its own ass and died there."

Why do I keep being shocked? Sigh.
