The Goodman Theory
So it seems to me that Woody Goodman is responsible for the school bus crash. Peter Ferrer was Woody Goodman's gay lover and the only reason why he'd be interested in going to a baseball stadium. Woody Goodman coursed the crash to kill Peter Ferrer there by preventing "the outing of all outings in Neptune".
Woody Goodman calls his daughter Gia just before the bus crash to make sure she was safely aboard the limo. Remember that it was the smell of a dead rat that drove the 09er kids to take the limo rather than the return bus ride. Farther suspicion is cast over Woody Goodman when it is revealed that he made a secret two million dollar pay off to Rhonda family for highly dubious and speculative reasons.
I believe that Woody Goodman framed Terrence Cook as he knew about his affair, game fixing and heavy gambling debts which would jeopardised the sharks would be hall of famers reputation. Terrence Cook kept his car collection in a hanger owned by Woody Goodman. It was in this hanger where the C4 explosives where discovered by veronica, the same C4 explosives used in the demolition of old shark field baseball stadium.
Though the crash was orchestrated by Woody Goodman it was probably set up by a regretful perhaps negligent David "Curly" Moran and executed by whoever was driving the green Plymouth Barracuda. The driver was most likely Liam Fitzpatrick out for money and petty revenge upon Cervando Esparza. However there were two men in the car and Danny works a day job so was it the mysterious Lucky riding shot gun with Liam? David "Curly" Moran was the stunt coordinator on "The Long Haul" a film which starred Aaron Echolls in which he sent a truck over the side of a bridge. If Curly really did regret his hand in the bus crash it may explain why veronica's name was literarily written on it as he may have searched for help, after all who in Neptune doesn't know the Mars name following the Lilly Kane murder?
Eli "Weevil" Navarro received a call from Logan Echolls residence telling him that Curly was hired by the Fitzpatrick's to blow up the bus. Veronica did not recognise this number and it is clear that the culprit was hoping to use the bikers to kill off Curly. I think that the perpetrator was most probably Kendall Casablanca or the mysterious Lucky. I think it's pursuable that Kendall Casablancas (Priscilla Banks) knows about and is blackmailing Woody Goodman as a result of either being a disgruntled accomplice who was hoping for a life insurance pay off upon her step children or through her links with the Fitzpatrick's.
Ok this is part of a post I made else where (Don't worry your still my first and true LoVe) that I thought might amuse you conspiracy theorists...
Appendix: The busy beaver
Theres a lot of uncertainty surrounding Cassidy Casablancas, the busy beaver. Cassidy has been buying up property in the south the question is has he been an eager beaver? Woody Goodman plans to make Neptune a city. This has been a very popular idea with Neptune 09ers. However incorporation would effectively put up a wall between the economic classes dividing Neptunes rich centre in the north from its poor neighbours like the territories in the south.
Why would Cassidy have Kendall be buying up properties in the south if he knew that the property prices would plummet once Neptune becomes incorporated making them worthless? I believe that Cassidy knows that Kendalls is really Priscilla Banks. In one conversation Cassidy smugly tells Kendall that hes counting on Kendalls appearance as being a fake facade and then with a laugh reminds her that all of Phoenix Land Trust deals are under her assumed name Kendall Casablancas. Cassidys exact words to Kendall were 'Im BANKing on it'.
In the same conversation he tells Kendall that he doesn't want her to buy the Kane estate as its on the 'wrong' side of town. We know however that if the incorporation of Neptune takes place the Kane estate would be worth a small fortune. Why then does Cassidy only want her to buy properties in the south? Kendall then tells Cassidy that all the investors believe that his father Big Dick Casablancas is running the show through Kendall. I wonder if Cassidy is trying to fit up Kendall for the fraud case which his father is charged with. Kendall has already been heavily implicated in Big Dicks Casablancas infamous property fraud scam. Kendall also already has a criminal record as a con artist working with the notorious Fitzpatricks.
If this is not the case we could turn it around of its head and assume that Cassidy made a mistake and Kendall is exploiting their relationship to dump properties for smart investors at a small fee. This is doubtful though given her interest in the Kane estate.
Kendall doesnt seem to heed Cassidys advice and goes to see Aaron Echolls. Aaron then hires her to Remove Duncans Hair from the hotels shower. I believe this is then later planted on Aarons Oscar which has recently been 'discovered' to be the murder weapon used in the murder of Lilly Kane.
Cassidy and Dick have confessed to knowing Curly who worked on Big Dicks Aston Martin. Its possible then that he also knew Kendall. A lot of speculation has been cast over Cassidys awkward relationship with women especially Mac. Some contend that he is in fact gay, if this theory does pan out then it may link him to Woody Goodman (his little league coach) and Peter Ferrer but Im not yet convinced. I think that Cassidy is simply timid by nature and is prone to feelings of inadequacy deriving from his background. I think that a lot of this will be cleared up by what Mac finds out from intercepting Cassidys mobile phone conversations and text messages.
On a final note Hector is a cagy one and seems dodgy; he might have had more to do with what happened on the bridge than meets the eye. I find it hard to believe that Thumper was the brains behind Eli "Weevil" Navarros dishonourable discharge as head of the PCH Bikers. The wannabes album cover for 'I am God' found on the back of Cervando Esparza bus seat made me wonder what actually happened to Felixs brother Gus or 'The Reaper' who was the leader of the PCH Bikers before Weevil. Apparently the Fitzpatricks had him 'disappear' one night but was he actually betrayed to them by one of his own gang? Could Cervando Esparza have implicated Thumper or Hector?
Jackie theories are now abundant and may carry some weight but I dont think she has the resources though perhaps the motivation. It would be a little contrived I feel if she turned out to be implicated and veronica has to face off with her at the end of the series.
Appendix 2: Idle speculation and exploration of theories in over complication and cause and effect:
Target Bus Driver theory:
The only person who had motive to cause the bus crash to kill solely the driver is his wife (or daughter but thats even more doubtful). If so then she placed the rat as a symbol of his infidelity and to drive everyone off the bus so innocents wouldnt be killed. Remember only the bus driver was killed by the actual explosion (revenge is a powerful motive). Curly may be a red herring used to throw people off and may have been used simply as part of Thumpers plan to take control of the PCH bikers. This would imply that it was Kendall that made the call to Weevil from Logans place. This however would be a big disappoint to the shows fans with their many conspiracy theories and come as a harsh lesson upon over complication and cause and effect. Remember weve learned so much about these characters and others as a result of their connection to the bus crash. Their dirty secrets may have never seen the light of day if the incident never occurred.
Bad Joke theory:
Now a theory where Dick and Beaver crash the bus accidentally in an attempt to spite the PCHer kids and make them walk all the way back to school is a more plausible idea. Beaver being racked with guilt would explain why he is weird with Mac. Curly may have been the one that told them how to do it or might have even been paid to do it. Feeling guilty after he hears about the crash Curly may have tried to get the word out but was silenced. This would then mean that the stabbing of Felixs and the framing of Cook are all unrelated incidents in which others tried to exploited the tragedy for their own gain.
Lucky may have been the one responsible for making a harmless joke a terrible tragedy in his efforts to get serious with the PCHers. Perhaps Dick took Beavers harmless plan of petty revenge farther to rid himself of Rhondas child (speculation). All three would have had access to Logans place but werent they either at Logans life is short beach party or doing their night job. This again would be a harsh lesson in over complication and cause and effect.
I don't support the last two theories in appendix 2 i just developed them in my ramblings as It's fun playing devil advocate...So what do you think?
