In the new issue with Vince Vaughn/Jennifer Anniston on the cover, there is an article on TV winners and losers throughout the week, a write-up of last season and look to next season. I was quite surprised in how they completely ignored VM's poor performance on Wednesday and just highlighted the renewal for Tuesday night. Taking in just how badly VM did last season, the overall positive write-up with just one teensy nod to negativity was quite surprising and nice to read.
Under what was basically the 'winners' category for Tuesday, this was the blurb about VM (I'm including the Pepper Dennis before line so that it makes sense):

Quote:Now, it would have been really nice if in their ode to the WB (which included a sidebar on the UPN) they had acknowledged Veronica Mars, instead of highlighting Buffy the Vampire Slayer on BOTH networks. I tell ya, I've been reading this magazine since its inception and what I wouldn't give for them to consider VM one of their biasedly-favored shows ala BTVS and The X-Files. They never miss an opportunity to showcase their faves. Sigh. Still, the blurb was positive and hopeful and that's something! And they do give it some attention, it could just use so much more -- especially when the other weekly magazines pretty much ignore it. (I still can't believe that TV Guide didn't even do a blurb in the weekly section for the VM finale!!!)
Not even women showed up to the WB's Rebecca Romijn newsroom dramedy, Pepper Dennis (200th)Although it didnt' do any better, UPN's critical darling Veronica Mars (196th) did win a post-Gilmore Girls (153rd) spot on The CW. "Paired with Gilmore, it will finally have its shot," CW entertainment president Dawn Ostroff says. "There are more similarities between the shows than people realize, and the support for Veronica never stops."
