With Veronica heading Hearst, what kind of fun will we have next year? Logan of course will be around and it will be fun if he interacts on campus, but with V living off campus, how much of it will we see. Wallace will be there, and hopefully Mac too! Maybe the two of them will get close, and in a way, I can see them hooking up. The college will be front and center for one of the mysteries next season, so does that mean we get to see Troy again? He was originally the one accused in this case, so maybe he'll get some screen time, just as long as he stays away from LoVe. Although Dick didn't graduate, if he and Logan stay close he'll be roaming the campus, and won't that be FUN! What about Weevil? Think he'll get things together and head off to college too? So much to look forward to already, and much more to come.

I think Dick may be going to college too. I think all he needs to do is make up the one class in summer school and he gets his diploma.
I don't see Weevil going to college at all. I have no idea how they are going to keep him around because it won't be through the school scene. |

Maybe Weevil might not be back. I know it will be sad. Is Logan going to Hearst?

Re: Hearst Happenings | ||

I could see Weevil returning as a special guest star as opposed to a credited regular cast member. However, if he is still a credited regular cast member, I don't think we'll see him for more than 10 episodes, and I'd bet there would be less than that. Weevil in college would make absolutely no sense.

If Weevil is back, which I hope that he is, I don't think college is for him!

I really want to see Dick in college. So bad. I think it will be a culture shock for him because no matter how many 09ers there are there will probably be a lot of diversity. I could totally see him joining a frat. What would be funny is if Dick and Logan, much to Veronica's dislike, moved in together. The two of them are in very similar situation where they have no family, and with Logan and Veronica together I could see Dick getting in the way a lot, like walking into a room when he shouldn't be walking in. I really want to see some fresh faces and I would LOVE if Mac went into residence and had Gia as a roommate. I want Gia around next seaon because I just love that girl.

This may be the stupidest question, but when did they ever actually say that Veronica was going to Hearst I mean RT has said that she will be in an interview, but did they ever state it on the show?

Quote: Veronica's choices were either Hearst or Stanford. She obviously didn't get the Kane scholorship so she is not going to Stanford. It was never actually said Veronica is going to Hearst but it was implied. ![]() |

Re: Hearst Happenings | ||

Other than Angie Dahl's snipe about Logan going to trade school, there has been no mention made anywhere of higher education for Logan. So either he goes to college with the gang or he and Veronica are together through the whole season to justify his continued presence in every episode. (It's possible they could drop Jason Dohring from the full 22-episode commitment, but I find that so incredibly unlikely as to be laughable. He's way, way, way too popular, and aside from Bell, is the only one who consistently gets critical praise.)

I don't think that all of the characters need to go to Hearst to still be regularly in it. How much did we really see some people like Weevil at school with Veronica? Plus there will be new characters and we'll see less of the old.
I have no clue what Logan's doing |

I think we all understand that not everyone will be going to Hearst and that some characters will be leaving the show. But, who do you think *is* going to Hearst? For sure we know that Veronica, Mac and Wallace are going, but I wonder what they are going to do with Logan, Dick, Weevil...?
On another note, do we know if Ryan is even coming back? |

I have to agree with Jennifer. Logan is loved by ALL the Veronica Mars fans. So if RT wants to keep Veronica Mars for more seasons, I'm pretty sure Logan is staying even if he isn't going to Hearst.

I don't know... I really can't see Dick and Logan being into the whole college scene, but then again, college is known for its parties...a supposed favorite hobby of Dick's. I would love Logan to do the whole, "I'll go where you go..." type thing with Veronica, but I don't think he seems like the type of guy whose going to college without his parents (who are now dead) urging. Dick doesn't seem like the college type guy either, but who knows? Maybe Dick will get a change of heart!

Well, I think an interview with RT made mention of the fact that Weevil would be around next season--but I doubt he will be a fellow classmate at Hearst.
I can't decide what I think they are going to do with Logan and Dick next year. Both have had very traumatic years so perhaps they will both find renewed purpose to really do something with their lives. Or, they could just join a frat and party all the time. It could go either way. Regardless of how things shake out as far as who will be metriculating and who won't, I am personally interested in seeing how the events of the finale have changed the characters we have come to know and love this season. Will Dick be more somber? Will Mac be less trusting? Will Logan be less self-destructive? Will Wallace love again? I can't WAIT to find out. |

Re: Hearst Happenings | ||

I'm almost positive that I read in an interview with RT Spoiler -- that while Wallace and Mac will be living in the dorms at Hearst, Veronica will live at home in order to keep Keith/Veronica interaction a daily thing. By keeping Veronica in her apartment and not on campus I think that allows for her to have believable interaction with people that might still be in Neptune, but not going to Hearst. She'll see Weevil around town. -- End Spoiler
I have no clue if they're going to send Logan to college or not. I think it would wrong if he didn't go. People always suggest that he'll just live off his trust fund or whatever. But most kids from wealthy families go to college even if they can live the rest of their lives off their inheritence. They go to be where all there friends or all the parties will be. I honestly can't think of one person I know in this day and age, no matter how wealthy they were, that didn't go to college. I don't expect Logan to be a 4.0 student, but I can't imagine him just lounging around either. I also think Veronica wouldn't approve of him just hanging out. She'd want him to do something. Also, I'm beginning to worry that Dick won't be back next season, as I have just realized that no one has ever mentioned him being back for season 3. I can see him easily being written away because of all the stuff that happened with Beaver. Please, please let Dick be back! You presented a spoiler without tagging it. I'm pretty sure that Ryan Hansen will be back. He was featured in two scenes (with Logan and with Veronica) in the VM clip that aired at the CW upfront. And his (alongside KB, JD, EC, PD, FC) name is listed on the synopsis of the show on the CW website.
I think we are going to see both Dick and Logan in school for this exchange if no other reason. I know, I know, it could be just a throwaway line, but it was offered so casually as if it was a total given they would be going to college. Quote:Now, of course, both boys could definitely afford better than Hearst and it makes sense that if any two were going to go to college they would get away from Neptune, but ... If Logan and Veronica are still dating (and actually date through the season -- pleasepleaseplease!), then Logan will naturally be going to the same college as her. And where Logan goes, Dick invariably follows. |

Spoiler -- "You won't see a Weevil trial, but he's going to go down for at least an assault. He's going to do some time. The next time we see Weevil, he has done time. But they won't be able to pin the murder on him." -- End Spoiler

Re: Hearst Happenings | ||

I don't know, I think we could see Weevil in college. He's done with the PCH bike club, he's no longer driving a motorcycle. He's really got nothing else to do with his time and as he graduated like his grandmother wanted him to (he didn't get to walk but he did graduate) he could very well end up being the first in his family to attend college.
Either way, he's still a useful character even if he's just a recurring one. He can go places and get information that Veronica can't and she's called him to help her out or bail her out of a situation on more than one occasion. So I definitely think he'll be around, just maybe not as much. --------

Re: Hearst Happenings | ||

I'd love to see more Weevil in S3, but I don't think it'll happen through Hearst. As far as I can tell, Hearst is stringent on its educational achievement aspect (well, aside from the normal sport-uplift as Wallace gets, and other extracurriculars), and it's expensive (Veronica in OAV).
No way would Weevil be getting in on either accounts. But I'm sure they'll work him in somehow to keep tying Veronica in to non-college aspects of Neptune. I have a feeling Logan's grades aren't exactly going to be making the cut either, hence Angie's bitchy aside of enjoying trade school. Although he can definitely afford it (what with inheritance). Then again, I can definitely see RT working it so that Dick (rotten but funny dick) is working his way through alienating the sorority girls as he had the high school girls, so if Dick can get in, Logan can! Dick's definitely Animal House frat-boy material. In view of the other thread on the board, about repercussions from Cassidys death and the truth coming out (if Veronica finally learns to open up and tell Logan what the hell is going on with her!), thats gotta have an affect on the Dick-Logan relationship. Surely. It wouldnt make sense otherwise. Hmm, but wait, I will reserve judgement on RTs ability to make sense until S3 unfolds. So how they work Hearst-Neptune-Weevil-Dick-Logan dynamics will be interesting. |

Re: Hearst Happenings | ||
Quote:The only thing we know about Logan's grades are that he was striving for a passing grade originally in Mr. Wu's class in senior year, due to senior-itis (which Wallace was also doing). Other that that we know that he took extracurricular courses and also AP courses. We also know that Logan IS a smart guy, judging by his vocabulary and his varied knowledge. Also, he won the essay contest, so he must be a good writer. Yes, Veronica claimed plagerism, but it's not possible to write a paper that was clearly that long based on dialogue from a film without it being obvious, so Logan had to have WRITTEN a well-written essay that just happened to include dialogue from his favorite movie. And for all we know, he credited the film at the end of the paper; we didn't see Veronica look at the last page. Angie Dahl doesn't know him and very well could have just been making her crack based on his sliding by in this course and the overall 'who cares about grades' attitude that Logan offers. So it's entirely possible that Logan has quietly been getting some As, probably a few more Bs and an occasional C, which would be good enough for Hearst. Wallace is getting in and as far as we know, he took NO extracurricular courses or AP classes. |
